Make AI text sound human, same meaning
work-humanizer
Skill that rewrites AI-sounding work emails and posts in plain human language without changing what they promise, and asks you for missing facts.
- Works with
- Claude Code, Codex CLI
- Good for
- Daily work and research
What it does
When you ask an AI to make a text sound more human, it often changes what the text says. A polite 'we will look into it' can become a promise, or an apology appears where you only meant to acknowledge a problem. At work, those small changes matter.
work-humanizer is a writing skill built for that situation. It first lists the facts in your draft and how certain each one is, then writes the text again in a natural voice while keeping every claim at the same strength.
If the draft is too generic, it can switch to an interview mode and ask you a few short questions about the real example, number or opinion that is missing. You can also give it your own notes or a voice memo transcript and it builds the text from those.
Example prompts
- "Use work-humanizer on this: <paste your email>"
- "Use work-humanizer on this and interview me first: <paste draft>"
- "Use work-humanizer on docs/launch-post.md"
- "Here are my notes from the call; use work-humanizer to turn them into a short update for the team"
How to install
npx skills add phuryn/work-humanizerHow to use it
Type 'Use work-humanizer on this:' and paste your draft. Add 'and interview me first' when the text is missing real details.
Check it works
Ask the assistant which skills it has; work-humanizer should be listed. The README also lets you run the checker yourself with python skills/work-humanizer/check.py draft.md from a copy of the repo.
Common problems
- The assistant does not use the skill — skills load when a session starts — close the assistant, open it again in your project folder and ask again.
What to watch out for
- An optional check.py script runs on your computer if the assistant decides to use it
- It does not make text pass AI detectors; the README says so

How we tested it
We installed it on an empty test computer on 13 Oct 2026. Installed and started in a clean test system. Not yet used in a real AI session.
Not yet used on real work.
Technical details of the test
- Date
- 13 Oct 2026
- Method
- Intake sandbox run on 2026-10-13 in a clean container with no account: cloned the repository and checked its skill, agent and plugin files, ran "npx -y skills --help".
Checked again on 13 Oct 2026
Alternatives
- Humanizer — the better-known humanizer skill; rewrites more freely
- Marketing Skills — copywriting playbooks rather than a rewrite tool
